नाम लिए कितने तर जात ,प्रणाम किए सुर लोक सिधारे ,

तीर गए तो तरे कितने ,कितने तर जात तरंग निहारे।
तरंगिनी तेरा है सुभाव यही ,कवि केशव के उर में पनधारे,
हे भागीरथी हम दोष भरे ,है भरोस यही कि परोस तिहारे। .

कवि केशव के इन कवित्तमय उद्गारों की व्याख्या बाद में पहले मूल विषय पर आते हैं। बुनियादी बात यह है गंगा-जी मानव जलमल से ग्रस्त हैं। कॉस्मिक ट्रीटमेंट से कुछ नहीं होने वाला है। उद्योगिक अपशिष्ट तो एक सशक्त बहुमत की सरकार द्वारा नियमों की कठोर पालना करवा के फिर भी रोक लिया जाएगा। इसका क्या करें के जिस मलजल का इस्तेमाल थोड़ा सा उपचारित करने के बाद इसे फीकल कोलीफोर्म (मानव मलमूत्र में मौजूद जीवाणु दल)से मुक्त करके कृषि कार्यों के लिए किया  जा सकता है इस ओर कतई   ध्यान न देकर हम कॉस्मिक ट्रीटमेंट किये जा रहे हैं।

स्वच्छता अभियान के इस दौर में जबकि आधा काम इस समय दुनिया पर बरपा क़हरकोरोना ने कर दिया है शेष जन सहयोग और मोदी पहल से होगा।

यदि भाषण में गंगा हमारी माँ है श्री गंगा जी हैं तो व्यवहार में भी ऐसा ही हो।

बहुविज्ञापित 'फीकल कोलीफोर्म 'में ४३ फीसद तक की कमी हो सकता है वाराणसी को छोड़ शेष जगह मिली हो बनारस की कहानी तो कुछ और ही कहती है जिसे सुनाया है मान्यवर विश्वंभर नाथ जी मिश्र ने। आप भारतीयप्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान ( बनारस हिन्दू विश्विद्यालय से सम्बद्ध ) आचार्य के पद पर सुशोभित हैं।  अलावा इसके एवं संकटमोचन मंदिर के महंत भी हैं।बकौल आपके काशी में 'फीकल -कोलीफॉर्म 'सामान्य दिनों के बरक्स इन दिनों डेढ़ गुना बढ़ गया है। (यदि हम गंगा को बचाना चाहते हैं -दैनिक हिंदुस्तान ३० अप्रैल अग्र लेख ).

जहां तक लोकडाउन के  दरमियान इसमें घुलित ऑक्सीजन की मात्रा में इज़ाफ़ा होने का सवाल है उसकी दीगर वजूहातें हैं। गंगा जल के साथ छेड़छाड़ करने वाले मोटरबोट काफ़िले इन दिनों यहां नहीं है।

गंगा जल पुनर्शोधन की अपनी पूरी क्षमता पा सकता है हम बस मानव बिष्टा ,मलमूत्र को गंदे नाले में छोड़ें -इसके जल को 'फीकलफॉर्म मुक्त' करके खेती किसानी में काम लें। आम के आम गुठलियों के दाम -बहुत हल्ला है ऑर्गेनिक फार्मिंग का ये भेंट भी गंगा मैया ही देंगी। आखिर गंगा जल अपने उदम स्रोत पर आज भी सड़ता नहीं है क्योंकि इसमें गंगोत्री से प्रचंड वेग से धारा अनवरत निकलती रही है जलवायु परिवर्तन के चलते ग्लेशियर भी सिकुड़ रहें हैं पश्चगमन कर रहें हैं। अब नहीं तो कभी नहीं -कुछ कीजिये पुख्ता श्रीगंगाजी के लिए।

कवित्त भावार्थ: कवि केशव कहते हैं गंगा के स्मरण मात्र से कितने जन्ममरण के चक्र से मुक्ति पा जाते हैं प्रणाम करने से उन्हें स्वर्ग की प्राप्ति होती है तथा -गंगा के किनारे आकर जिसने श्रीगंगाजी जी लहरों को निहार लिए उसके लिए फिर -

पुनरपि जन्मम पुनरपि मरणम ,

पुनरपि जननी जठरे शयनम।

से छुटकारा मिल जाता है।

हम प्राणिमात्र अवगुणों की खान हैं कवि केशव कहते हैं -गंगा तीरे बसावट है यही एक मात्र सहारा है।

कबीर दास कहते हैं :

कबीरा मन निर्मल भया ,जैसे गंगा नीर ,

पाछे पाछे हरी फिरे , कहत कहत कबीर।

सवाल ये है मन भी तो तभी निर्मल हो जब गंगा जल अ -मल हो।

Ganges Vishnu’s Feet Brahma’s Palm Shiva’s Head

One of the reasons why the Ganges is revered in India is the fact that it is sanctified by the feet of Lord Vishnu,palm of Brahma and Head of Shiva.When Lord Vishnu took the form of Trivikrama during Vamana Avatar, He scaled the Heavens and Brahma washed His feet with His Palm.

And when Bhgiratha prayed Shiva to release Ganges from His Head, to wash away the sins of His forefathers.the Sagara Putras, who were cursed by Kapila(Avatar of Vishnu), the Ganges flowed from Shiva’s Head.

During Vamana Avatar, Ganges touched Shiva’s head as it fell down through Mrityuloka.

We find Vishnu pada in Gaya,Rishikesh even today.

And thus lotus feet of Narayana was cleansed by the Brahma (In Vamana avatara of lord Vishnu, while measuring the whole universe the second step, Vishnu went to Sathya loka (residence of Brahma, the four-headed God).

With this unexpected Guest of lord’s feet, Brahma astonished and immediately started cleansing lord’s feet by taking the vedas as water in his kamandalam. That water is flowing as ‘Ganga’). This holy feet belong to Brahmam” ( or Para Brahmam, the Supreme Lord or God-head).

2) Srimad Bhagavatam:

SB 8.21.1: Sukadeva Gosvmi continued: When Lord Brahma, who was born of a lotus flower, saw that the effulgence of his residence, Brahmaloka, had been reduced by the glaring effulgence from the toenails of Lord Vamanadeva, he approached the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Lord Brahma was accompanied by all the great sages, headed by Marici, and by yogis like Sanandana, but in the presence of that glaring effulgence, O King, even Lord Brahma and his associates seemed insignificant.

Srimad Bhagavatam 8.21.4:

‘dhatuh kamandalu jalam tad urukramasya
padavanejana pavitrataya narendra
svardhuny abhun nabhasi sa pataiī nimarsṭi
loka trayaḿ bhagavato visadeva kirtih’

Meaning:

O King, the water from Lord Brahma’s kamandalu washed the lotus feet of Lord Vamanadeva, who is known as Urukrama, the wonderful actor. Thus that water became so pure that it was transformed into the water of the Ganges, which went flowing down from the sky, purifying the three worlds like the pure fame of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.(Yhoo answers)
